Planting the Seeds of Financial Success | Ages 8–18
Unity's Six-Week Financial Literacy & Youth Entrepreneurship Program begins planting the seeds of financial success as early as 2nd and 3rd grade, building students' knowledge as they progress toward adulthood. Students learn the fundamentals of saving, budgeting, banking, credit, interest rates, responsible borrowing, entrepreneurship, and wealth-building through practical, age-appropriate activities. As students advance, they learn how good and poor credit can affect real-life financial decisions, including the interest rates and monthly payments associated with cars, credit cards, apartments, and eventually homeownership. Students explore the long-term cost of debt, the importance of establishing and protecting good credit, and how financial decisions made today can affect opportunities tomorrow. Just as importantly, Unity encourages young people to develop a financial-growth mindset—looking beyond the economic hardships they may experience today, including poverty, homelessness, housing instability, or food insecurity, and learning that their present circumstances do not have to define their financial future. Through financial knowledge, education, entrepreneurship, goal-setting, and responsible decision-making, we seek to help students build a foundation for financial confidence, economic independence, and long-term financial stability.

Google Certificates
Creating a Pathway to Economic Independence: For young adults transitioning from foster care and adults experiencing homelessness or residing in shelters, access to education must lead to practical opportunities for economic stability. Unity's Google Professional and Career Certification pathway is designed to help participants develop industry-relevant digital, technology, AI, and professional skills while receiving the additional support they may need to persist and complete their training. For transition-age foster youth, the years approaching independence can provide an important window to build credentials, employment skills, financial literacy, and career direction. For adults experiencing homelessness, professional certification can provide another pathway to reenter the workforce, strengthen existing skills, pursue higher-paying career opportunities, and work toward financial and housing stability. Unity's model goes beyond enrollment. Participants may receive academic coaching
Google Certification Student Success Support
- Every student enrolled in Unity's Google Professional and Career Certification pathway will be assigned a dedicated Academic Coach/ Counselor, who serves as an accountability and student-success partner.
- Students will receive individualized weekly support, provided virtually or in person.
- Regular check-ins are designed to monitor academic progress, encourage consistent participation, assist with coursework and certification goals, and identify barriers that may interfere with successful program completion.
- Our support extends beyond academics. Our Coaches/Counselors weekly sessions will identify academic, social, technological, or financial challenges that may affect their ability to remain engaged. When appropriate,
- Unity will help connect students and families with available educational, technology, community, and supportive resources.
- Our goal is to provide more than access to a certification program—we provide the accountability, encouragement, academic support, and individualized guidance students may need to persist, complete their certification, and move toward their educational and career goals.
One-on-One Academic Coaching
Students receive individualized support from experienced academic coaches who focus on learning goals, skill-building, and progress. Each student is matched with a coach and receives up to 10 hours of one-on-one coaching per month.
FLEXIBLE ONLINE LEARNING
Unity Intervention Educational Academy offers 100% online, self-paced learning options that allow learners to balance education with work, family, and personal responsibilities. Learners set their own schedules while progressing through structured coursework, supported by individualized tutoring and academic guidance.
